ADOPTIVE FAMILIES magazine chose Brendan’s photo from our Christmas card to be published in the Family Album section of the February 2007 issue just hitting news stands! Aside from our being totally proud parents, he’s so excited to see himself in a magazine. I’m amazed at how much this almost 3 year old grasps about photography. Though I suppose it’s bound to happen when one has their picture taken well over 3,000 times in just 3 short years!
Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays as much as we did. We were touched by a Christmas miracle as my son actually slept through the night and has continued to do so (though I probably just jinxed it!) Anyone who has a child who is not much into sleeping will surely understand my mis-guided use of the word “miracle” and agree this truly is one! We all enjoyed seeing lots of family but B especially liked spending time with his cousin, Justin.
Can it really be 2007 already? Aside from being a reminder of just how quickly time passes (especially the baby years!) it’s so refreshing to have the opportunity to start new. I’m not talking about resolutions (I never stick to them anyway) or rewriting that huge to-do list of things that we really want to accomplish. I’m talking about leaving all the bad stuff from 2006 in 2006 and making the choice not to look back at it when reflecting upon all the other wonderful things that happened last year. All those things that never quite set right with us in 2006 — they’re gone. It’s all in the past. Seek forgiveness and move on! We all have the power to do it — it truly IS a choice. At least I like to think so.
